The Byron Quartet brings together four of their works that are filled with Hispanic musical reminiscences: Turina's youthful quartet "de la guitarra", his Oración del torero ("The Prayer of the Bullfighter") and his mature Serenata, to which Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Quintet with Guitar and its "Souvenir d'Espagne" movement respond. Each of these pieces is situated at the crossroads of influences that mix d'Indy, Franck, Debussy, Schubert, Ravel, Andalusian music, flamenco... and of course the guitar, whose spirit runs through the entire program.
