Joseph Deschamps, Pierre Mugnier, Patrick Ancey and Bernard Simond are the representatives of a species on the verge of extinction in the Chamonix valley: Hérens cow breeders. In a mountain prey to tourism, they must fight daily to perpetuate and keep alive this ancestral activity. Why do they keep their "Noires"? How do they raise them? How do they manage to cope with the demands of a quasi-mandatory double activity? How do they manage from day to day? How do they feel in their peasant skin? What role do they play in mountain society? These are some of the questions that Noires Désir tries to answer by immersing itself in a world that is often misunderstood. Through the collective portrait of these passionate breeders rooted in the mountain pastures, the film also draws up the portrait of the famous "Black Queens" against the backdrop of a current photograph of mountain pastoralism in resistance in one of the most visited tourist sites in the world. Another image, authentic and true, of the Mont-Blanc country
