L'utopie sociale de Henry Jacques Le Même à Chedde

A guided walk through Chedde, an important hamlet since the 18th century, as it was a necessary passage towards the discovery of the "Grandes Glacières de Chamouny", experienced an exceptional development as soon as its electrochemical factory was established at the end of the 19th century. This is what this walk offers you to discover, by revisiting the history of the factory and those of the Cités Jardins and Nids, built by the famous architect Henry-Jacques le MÊME, who built there modern and attractive housing for workers, foremen and executives of the factory, respecting the balance between habitat and nature, in the perspective of a "social utopia".
