It will also be holding a swimathon, with participants opting to swim either individually or in teams to raise as much money as possible. The aim is to get as many people as possible to form a team and raise a minimum of €50. Participants will be challenged to swim a minimum of 10 lengths on the day – you don’t need to be an experienced swimmer or to swim for miles to take part. The main objective is to raise awareness of the importance of clean and safe drinking water as a vital resource. To make the event even more attractive, we’re hoping to get some professional swimmers to join us at the event. In parallel with the event, we’ll also be putting the spotlight on the Val d’Isère water cycle “from the glacier to the river Isère”, with the participation of stakeholders like the Vanoise National Park, the local authority water department and Véolia, to give the event a cultural and social dimension.
