On the same ski area where the best downhillers and slalom racers of the World Cup regularly compete in the Kandahar FIS, the Junior Kandahar brings together the best young people in the U14 category from the leading European and American alpine ski nations. The Junior Kandahar is sponsored by Yannick Bertrand, 15 years of career as a racer in the World Cup of Alpine skiing and coach at the ski club Les Houches during the 2014/2015 season, currently a member of the coaching staff of the FFS speed team. 120 girls and 120 boys from the U14 category, grouped in 60 mixed teams, will compete during 3 days, on 2 pro giant runs, 2 slalom runs (SL) and 2 giant runs (GS). Each race gives rise to a classification and individual awards, but above all to a classification by club teams, calculated by adding up the results of each of the racers over the 3 days of racing. The winning club by team wins the "KANDAHAR JUNIOR" challenge, which is awarded every year, except in the case of 3 consecutive victories by the same club, which would then keep the challenge forever.
