Catherine Dupuis takes a look back over the history of Megève in her film 'Megève, la naissance du ski' (Megève, the birth of skiing), about this village in the province of Fauciny under the princes of the House of Savoy, which, over the course of the 20th century, became a globally renowned winter sports resort.
In 'Emile Allais, la légende du ski', she tells the story of this skier from Megève (1912-2012) who became an icon in the world of competitive skiing and winter sports, as the first world champion and first Olympic medallist in Alpine skiing. He was also involved in the creation of winter sports resorts in the Alps, avalanche prevention, and was a technical advisor for Rossignol. Emile Allais talks about his hometown and how he discovered skiing.
