From Yvoire, a medieval village, to Nernier, the "Pearl of Lake Geneva", the pupils will discover the history of the Chablais landscapes, the human settlement in the region and the evolution of local life. They will get to know the great men
who have lived on the shores of Lake Geneva and who were inspired by the local landscapes: Lamartine, Rousseau, Byron, Shelley...
Several themes will be addressed: the history of human settlement and villages, with a parenthesis on the wars of religion (Vaudois path);
the Lake Geneva region and the Romantics; local architecture and the built heritage, including the contemporary achievements of the architect Maurice Novarina; the formation of landscapes and the use of local resources: the links with geology.
