"I am interested in the material remnants of the present world from which I derive my motivations, more than in the introverted exploration of internalized fantasies." Robert Smithson1.
Récits d'interférences explores the architecture of the Plateau d'Assy sanatoriums and the Flaine resort. The productions presented, set in resonance, question and experiment with the fictional power of these buildings, where the walls are transformed into spaces of contemplation and supports for the projection of a future change.
Stories and mythologies emerge from these concrete behemoths, ruins in the making, whose very name sounds like the implementation of the memory of a place.
Sandy Avignon and Sébastien Lacroix question our relationship with time via the notion of disappearance that follows and refer us to the surrounding geological relief.
The film "Les ombres monolithes" was an opportunity to collaborate with the writer Dionys Décrevel2. The story "Olana" was written especially for the film. This text became the starting point for a longer poem entitled "A country that is not of our flesh". The exhibition will be an opportunity to read this new text.
