European Heritage Days - Montmayeur Castle

During the European Heritage Days, come and discover the Montmayeur tower dating back to the 13th century. The tower was renovated in the 15th century and became the home of the Montmayeur lords.

Do not miss the exhibition on Spatial Conquests: "Adaptabilis : Une planète habitable pour le vivant."


On 3 levels, models, drawings and sound recordings reveal the secrets of the valley's traditional buildings, from village houses to Alpine chalets.

In the cellar, you will learn what wine was like in the Middle Ages: vineyards in Savoie (you can taste "hypocras" to take you back in time), as well as the tools used to work the land.
