Born in Thonon, Hubert CHANOVE grew up in the village of Machilly.
As a child, he accompanied his father, Jean-Marie CHANOVE, in the kitchen.
A passionate cook, he went straight to hotel schools in Bonneville and then Thonon to learn the art of the table.
After graduating, he decided to go and work for seasons in Michelin-starred restaurants all over France.
For 6 years, he honed his culinary skills alongside Arnaud DONCKELE, Michel TROISGROS and Jean SULPICE, from whom he learnt the secret of mountain herbs.
In 2019, Hubert CHANOVE takes over the restaurant created 30 years ago by his father, "Le Refuge des Gourmets", on the Swiss border, on the heights of Lake Geneva, in Machilly.
