Concert - XINARCA Corsican polyphonic singing

Let Corsica sing in Albiez with Xinarca, a concert of traditional Corsican monodic song. Accompanied by a Cètera d'Oletta, a rare instrument, the sacred song of the mountains will naturally find its place in the Church of Saint Michel, where it will be sublimated.

Xinarca offers a repertoire based on traditional Corsican monodic "Cantu nustrale": sacred songs and assembly songs (shepherds' songs, work songs), compositions.
He accompanies himself on a rare 16-string instrument, the "Cètera d'Oletta". This is the only original Corsican cistre (230 years old) still played today. Xinarca inherited it from his great uncle.
This ancient 16-string Corsican cistre virtually disappeared at the beginning of the 20th century, along with its repertoire.
The last man to play it died in 1934, and with him went the oral tradition, the memory of which has never been recorded.
