First concert of the year for the Camerata du Mont-Blanc at the start of its ninth season.
Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto in A minor for two violins Op. 3 No. 8 RV 522 kicks off the evening, before a foray into the last century with Gustav Holst's Moorside Suite version for string orchestra.
Samuel Barber's moving Adagio for Strings and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's Symphony No. 9 will play with the full range of string sounds, between melancholy and fireworks (certified environmentally friendly).
