The Bertrand farm has seen several generations of farmers over more than a century. In 1972, director Marcel Trillat filmed this dairy farm of around 100 animals run by three bachelor brothers in the mountains of Haute-Savoie. It was also the subject of Gilles Perret's first film in 1997, when the farm was handed over to the brothers' nephew. Since 2022, Gilles Perret has been filming it again, marked by the arrival of milking robots that will revolutionize the practices and lives of the farm's associates. These three pivotal periods in the farm's existence, twice 25 years apart, will make up a unique work which, through the words and gestures of the people who have succeeded one another on the farm, will tell the story of three very different lives. Through them, the economic and social history of this mountainous region and its environmental challenges will also be explored.
