In Maurienne, there are 4 active construction sites which today employ more than 1,000 people to build the 57.5 km twin-tube tunnel that connects the two transalpine countries. State of progress, excavation techniques, figures, integration of the site into the territory, all the information on this extraordinary site, the longest railway tunnel in the world, will be shared with you during this conference led by representatives of TELT, the Franco-Italian public promoter in charge of building and operating the structure.
The Lyon-Turin link is a new railway line for the transport of goods and passengers which extends over 270 km, of which 70% in France and 30% in Italy; it is the central link of the Mediterranean corridor, one of the 9 axes of the TEN-T trans-European transport network which extends over 3,000 km and connects, from East to West, 7 European corridors.
