The typical recipe for "Berthoud" was developed at the beginning of the 20th century by a family of the same name who ran a bistro in Thonon-les-Bains (74). Presented as an individual hot dish, it is traditionally made from a clever blend of melted Abondance cheese and white wine, served in a "Berthoud cup".
A guaranteed traditional speciality, Berthoud enhances the value of the essential products from its birthplace: the PDO "Abondance", the emblematic raw cow's milk cheese and the PDO "Vin de Savoie" white wine.
After having scrupulously followed the recipe, it is time to taste and share impressions.
