Canyoning

A refreshing adventure

Canyoning is a fun and exhilarating way of combining skills from several different sports: rock climbing (particularly abseiling), hiking, jumping and white-water swimming.

This aquatic pursuit provides a unique way of exploring the hidden treasures of the mountains, with stunning views of water-polished rocks, pools of emerald water and bubbling waterfalls.

Adventure guaranteed in rarely visited corners of Savoie and Haute-Savoie.

Recommandations

Before setting out, three parameters must be taken into account:

  • One's ability to cope with a potentially dangerous and ever-changing environment,
  • One's swimming ability,
  • One's technical skills in terms of rope handling, abseiling, belaying, etc.).

It is essential to take professional advice from a mountain guide or a qualified climbing or caving instructor.

Climbing helmet, wetsuit, wetsocks, adequate footwear (training shoes), harness, rope of the right length (that floats), etc.
For safety: spare rope, system for climbing a rope, knife and, in a watertight bottle, first-aid kit, food, drinks, survival blanket, etc.
