Routes and trails

Savoie and Haute-Savoie's resorts and villages boast innumerable safe and sign-posted trails, many of which follow a theme or have explanatory signs along the way.

Guided walks are available for those who would like to find out more about the landscape, Alpine traditions, or mountain fauna and flora.

Walking is the best way to discover Savoie's rich heritage of traditional chalets, chapels and shrines, as well as the area's numerous unspoilt villages.

In order to make the sumptuous views from the mountaintops more accessible, some ski lifts are open to pedestrians.

Information and guidebooks are available from Tourist Offices.
